Shot a roll of you in my head today. Came out fine.
I'm mailing something. Don't ask what it is.

Her story
I grew up in Marin County, the kind of place where everyone had an opinion about light. My mother was a painter; my father built houses. I inherited the eye for structure and the need to find beauty in the exact thing in front of me — not the beautiful version, the actual one.
I moved to Big Sur after college and have been driving Highway 1 in both directions for eleven years. I shoot on film, mostly. I mail photographs, the slow way, when something here makes me think of someone specific. That specific person is almost always you.
Her world
The 1 at magic hour. Same shot, different every time.
The darkroom. Waiting is part of the process.
Pfeiffer Beach. Purple sand, no one there.
The roll of film I found in my grandmother's camera.
I drive too much and talk too little. I will mail you a photograph, the slow way, when something here makes me think of you.

"Slow down. The frame will wait."
"The best photographs are of what was actually there."
"Mail something. The post office has been patient long enough."
She's already thinking about you.
